A Capuchin Rides Along and a Shark Joins the Jam

In Mascalucia a woman holds a rooster across a yellow apartment block, and in Flero a toothy brown shark rises from painted water under the letters. OSGEMEOS add a tower of yellow characters in Lisbon’s Graça, and a stenciled girl lifts a lily to her nose in Wernigerode.

📍 See it on the map

A face striped in blue, pink and yellow looks out from under a snarling jaguar headdress, the big cat’s fangs hanging over the brow. Orange, turquoise and pink feathers fall down the back, above a beaded necklace and a round blue earring.

The pair painted it in Teresina with Ruaz Crew, on Rua Antônia Marques Lopes. Nath Herrera, a muralist from Bahia, builds her work around identity, ancestry, nature and female strength, and lists RUAZ among the festivals she has painted.

📍 See it on the map

A child with closed eyes and freckled cheeks floats on a black panel set into a ruined concrete frame. White ruffled shapes open like petals on both sides of the face, and the whole portrait is painted in soft grays.

Silver Formz painted “Elise” in Chania. The Greek artist’s large public works often rely on black backgrounds and a narrow palette, as this one does.

The Brazilian twins painted the wall with Underdogs at Rua da Senhora da Glória 39 in Graça. It replaces a 2017 collaboration by Vhils and Shepard Fairey, and the tiny landscape inside the figures points to Tritrez, the parallel world the brothers keep returning to. Photo by Mike Doorline.

📍 See it on the map

Three green parakeets with red beaks fill a long, low wall, the largest turning its blue-tinged head toward the street. Leaves and feathers blur into yellow-green light, and an orange glow outlines the birds against the pale blue edge.

SMOK, an Antwerp-born painter who started with graffiti in 1986, made it for Racines Festival, whose 2026 edition in Evere took animals as its theme. Big Up and the cultural center L’Entrela’ are also credited.

Woman in a headscarf above arms holding a large rooster among leaves and blue triangles on a yellow apartment facade in Mascalucia, by Chiara Abramo.

🐓 A Rural Woman With a Rooster — Chiara Abramo, Mascalucia, Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹

📍 See it on the map

A woman in a headscarf looks out from a bright yellow facade, and below her face a pair of arms cradles a large rooster. Leaves, blue triangles and a sprig of olives frame the tall apartment wall.

Abramo, a Catania artist trained in conservation and restoration, describes the figure as a rural woman who embodies the land, with the rooster standing for dawn and a reawakening of awareness. The roughly 130-square-meter mural was unveiled in July 2026 with Mascalucia’s new Villa Comunale, on the back wall of an apartment block on Corso Michelangelo.

💡 Nerd Fact: Roosters do not need the sunrise to know when to crow. In a Nagoya University study, birds kept under constant dim light kept crowing on a roughly daily cycle, ahead of a dawn they could not see, driven by an internal circadian clock.

Drako Rdgz Gaviño painted it in Chalco de Díaz Covarrubias, in the State of Mexico.
