The artists call this 2026 collaboration Destroy This Story. The Toy Story-inspired production covers one long wall with characters and tightly packed letterforms.

They painted it at Parco della Rinascita for the 18th edition of OVERLINE GRAFFITI JAM, held July 24–26, 2026.

Joy, a mural by ZABOU in Maubeuge, France, showing a smiling grayscale portrait of Noémie looking upward, surrounded by sunflowers and colorful confetti.

🌻 “Joy” — By ZABOU in Maubeuge, France 🇫🇷

📍 See it on the map

Joy is a 20-by-12.5-metre mural at Résidence Vilvorde. The portrait was inspired by a photograph of Noémie, a young local dancer, sharing a dance with her mother.

The work was commissioned by Avesnoise Promocil after ZABOU’s participation in the first edition of Festival Chroma.

💡 Nerd Fact: Young sunflower heads track the sun, but mature heads stop turning and generally face east. East-facing flowers warm sooner in the morning, which promotes pollination and tends to produce larger, heavier seeds.

💡 Fire Fact: Wind-blown embers can ignite separate fires more than a kilometre beyond the main flame front, according to France’s ecology ministry.

The Kingfisher and the Minnow, a tall mural by Peachzz of a kingfisher diving through splashing water toward a minnow among riverside plants in Floda, Sweden.

📍 See it on the map

Peachzz describes The Kingfisher and the Minnow as a river version of cat and mouse. The kingfisher’s dive, the burst of water and the riverside plants use the full height of the building.

Painted at Garverivägen 9 for Lerum Municipality in collaboration with Artscape.

💡 Nerd Fact: Kingfisher vision shifts between two foveae as the bird enters the water, giving it sharp vision at the last moment before it seizes its prey.

Helmeted black-and-grey portrait with fluorescent red goggles, an orange halo and a cigarette by CISE in Madrid, Spain.

🥽 Fluorescent Red Goggles — By CISE in Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸

📍 See it on the map

CISE gives the helmeted black-and-grey portrait fluorescent red goggles and an orange halo, with a cigarette held between the figure’s fingers. CISE shared the piece on August 9, 2026, from a studio in Madrid, tagging Zane1 and ZZ Rock.

💡 Paint Fact: Daylight-fluorescent colorants absorb light at one wavelength and re-emit it at longer wavelengths. That emitted light combines with reflected light, so measured reflectance can exceed 100 percent.

Memorias de un Grillo Blanco, a mural of a jameíto—Lanzarote’s tiny endemic cave crustacean—painted across a white wall by Matías Mata (Sabotaje al Montaje) in Punta Mujeres, Lanzarote, Spain.

🦞 “Memorias de un Grillo Blanco” — By Matías Mata (Sabotaje al Montaje) in Punta Mujeres, Lanzarote, Spain 🇪🇸

📍 See it on the map

The mural depicts the jameíto (Munidopsis polymorpha), a tiny cave-dwelling crustacean endemic to Lanzarote and often described as blind. Matías Mata, better known as Sabotaje al Montaje, based the work on a photograph by Cristina Camacho and shared the finished mural in a reel.

💡 Nerd Fact: A 2022 anatomical study found that the jameíto’s rudimentary eyes remain partly functional and can still detect light. The species still shows negative phototaxis—movement away from light.

The mural was unveiled on August 8, 2026 as part of the Memorias de un Grillo Blanco festival. It covers the white wall opposite Restaurante El Palenke on Calle las Salinas.
