🐟 A Brook Trout Joins Last Year’s Fish — By Maks.C in Lac-Édouard, Canada 🇨🇦

Two fish break through painted water across the facade. Pale spray and mist connect the newer section with the mural already on the wall.

In 2026, Maks.C returned to Canettes d’épinette and added a brook trout to the piece he had painted there the previous year. The mural is at Le SAN – Station boréale, 400 Rue Principale in Lac-Édouard.

💡 What We Could Verify: Despite its English name, the brook trout belongs to the char genus Salvelinus. Some Québec populations are anadromous: they grow in salt water before returning to fresh water to reproduce, according to the Québec government’s species account.
