✍️ The Morrígan Meets Dracula — By K2B + Naja Calligraphie in Saint Mullins, Ireland 🇮🇪

K2B and Naja Calligraphie bring together the Morrígan and Dracula in a scene of a moonlit castle, a raven and a glowing lantern. K2B chose the figure from Irish mythology, while Naja painted the vampire.

💡 Nerd Fact: Dracula also has an Irish connection: its author, Bram Stoker, was born in Dublin. He published the novel in 1897 while working as a theatre manager in London.

💡 Nerd Fact: Ives One also founded the Amsterdam Street Art foundation. In a 2015 interview, he explained that he began writing graffiti in 1996 and started working under the name IVES.ONE in 2005.

💡 Nerd Fact: As controller of BBC Two, David Attenborough helped introduce the channel’s regular color television service in 1967. It began on 1 July with coverage of Wimbledon, two years before BBC One introduced its own color service.

🐕 “Hound” Reassembles a Figure Across a Tower — By Afzan Pirzade in Werchter, Belgium 🇧🇪

Afzan Pirzade’s Hound combines a muscular human torso with an animal’s body across a tower of offset shipping containers. The figure holds a sword, and its painted anatomy continues across the gaps.

Created for North West Walls at the Rock Werchter festival site, curated by Arne Quinze.

💡 Nerd Fact: North West Walls began in 2014 at Rock Werchter. The festival describes it as a permanent installation whose artwork changes each year, with the work also on view outside the music festival.

🔥 A Purple Portrait Fills a Southend Facade — By Sofles in Southend-on-Sea, UK 🇬🇧

Sofles paints a large purple female profile among orange mechanical forms, with dense graffiti lettering below.

Painted at 1 High Street, beside Pier Hill, for Southend City Jam, where Sofles was a headline artist.

💡 Nerd Fact: Director Selina Miles estimated that Sofles and the other artists used about 700 spray cans for their 2013 film Limitless. Filming took ten eight-hour days, and the project took a month from start to finish.

🦜 A Giant “Cockatoo” Lands in Leuven — By Alain Welter in Leuven, Belgium 🇧🇪

Alain Welter combines detailed feathers with glossy, inflated wings in Cockatoo, part of his series of inflatable animals. Painted seams and folds make parts of the bird resemble a giant toy.

💡 Nerd Fact: After studying illustration in Berlin, Welter returned to Luxembourg and developed Make Koler Kooler, a mural project in his home village of Kahler. His projects also include five cooling towers in Differdange, painted in 2020.
